Would you be able to build a structure out of straws and pipe cleaners that would support 400 grams of weight at least 25 cm. above the base? We tried to do this today. Check out how well we did!

Today we tried to solve the underwater mystery of Atlantis. Was it a real or fictional place? We worked in teams to discuss the research and current information on Atlantis. Our teams came up with a hypothesis that was supported by our research.
What an amazing day we had today in TAG! It was time to finish up our Yellowstone Photo Story 3 projects. This is when the research and creativity come together. We helped each other through the process of adding images, a green screen, music and transitions and then we got a chance to preview all of our hard work.
Our architectural engineering challenge today was to build a structure that would support 400 grams at least 25 centimeters off the ground. We sketched our ideas and constructed our structures. Unfortunately, we had catastrophic structural failures (they all fell over and/or got squashed), so we will try again next week with our new architectural plans!
Today we had a short class because of ITBS testing. We put the finishing touches on our Medical Pioneers Photo Story 3 projects and some of us had time to select from additional activities such as drawing a WWII recruiting poster, writing a V mail, or crack the enemy code. After lunch we presented our projects to the class.
We started our next challenge this week: Build the tallest structure possible with 30 straws. Building a tall structure that is able to stand up has turned out to be very challenging!
Today we are putting the finishing touches on our Medical Pioneer Photo Story 3 projects. We are editing them and adding music.
Everyone has selected an artist to study and we have begun our research. Each class created a rubric to guide and assess their projects.
Today we peer edited our experiment procedures to prepare for our experiment day. Experiment day will be Wednesday Nov. 29. Non-perishable supplies may be dropped off in Mrs. O'Brien's room any day.
We also solved a true historical mystery, but we can not tell you about it because we do not want to spoil the excitement of solving it for future TAG students! Today we worked on our state field trip reports. We continue to do research, take notes, and turn our notes into a script. We worked on our hooks and wrap-ups today too! We want our audience to be interested in our writing.
